Blackberry Cake


Mix Add
3    Cups all purpose flour 2    Eggs
1 1/2 Cups sugar 1    Cup Crisco Oil
1    tsp. Salt 1    Cup Sweetened Drained Blackberries
1    tsp. Baking Power 1    Cup Buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. Ginger 1    tsp. Vanilla
1    tsp. Soda  1/2 Cup Juice of Berries
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp. Cloves

1 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg


Combine all dry ingredients then add the other ingredients and mix with electric mixer for 3 minutes.  Pour into greased and floured tube cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.  Cool and ice.



Carmel Icing

2    Cups brown Sugar Add
 1/2 Cup Margarine 1 Box Powered Sugar and Beat
 1/4 Cup Milk
Pour Over Cooled Cake
1    tsp. Vanilla


In a Medium Sauce Pan, Bring to Boil
